| US Citizen wanting Visa for travel to India

Im not understanding how to get India Visa for first time travel to India with US passport. Anyone have any advices? How long does it take? Where do I go?
Also, if I get a 5 year visa, will i need to leave for 2 months every year?

you can contact visa service at Indian embassy- I know one is in California for sure. you can either get for 6 month or 1 year--BUT would suggest to get OCI--overseas citizen of India, this willl give life time visa and can travel any time even for 6 months-- you will only pay one time fee for this and get India visa for life time-- I belive its about $ 250 BUT not for sure--good luck
