He contributed greatly to statictical mechanics, the electromagnetic properties of ionosphere, the therories of X-ray crystallography and thermoluminescence, and unified field theory. Bose instituted ""Planck's Law and the Hypothesis of Light Quana"" in 1924.
7/3/1898Gopinath Bhagwan was born at Banamohalla, Srinagar. He is one of the most eminent saints who have graced the sacred land of India. An Ashram at Kharyar, Srinagar is set up by his disciples and devotees to preach his meditation.

5/10/1910Mian Tansen, a prominent figure of North Indian (Hindustani) classical music and famous singer of Akbar's court, died at Gwalior. Tansen is remembered for his epic Dhrupad compositions, creating several new ragas, as well as for writing two classic books on music Sri Ganesh Stotra and Sangita Sara.
