Hi,I and my wife are shifting to San Francisco Bay Area to join a consulting firm in San Jose. We need some help figuring out the best place to rent an apartment based on the below parameters:1. I have recently married, and is the first chance for my wife to stay outside India2. We both prefer a lifestyle where we have something to do in the evening - not necessary that it is always a pub or a club (which we enjoy once or twice every week), but even a stroll, or a jog in the evening in a happening area (like the Fisherman's Warf) is a good deal. For this reason, I would have preferred to live in San Francisco, but I know it is not the smart choice3. The office is in San Jose, which is 1.5hrs away by Caltrain. Staying in San Francisco puts undue pressure of a 3 hour travel routine every day - which takes away the time we are spending with each other. That is no fun4. My wife can't drive yet, and may not be very comfortable doing it after she finishes her ongoing classes. I don't want a situation where she is dependent on me, so a city with some public transport is good.5. Cost of living - I know that rentals can be excruciatingly high in SFO. We would like to keep our money for spending on stuff we enjoy doing, than to pay off a landlordCan you suggest some places we should consider for staying? If I do a mere distance assessment, Google maps is pointing me towards:* South San Francisco city* San Bruno* San Mateo* Redwood city* FremontNot sure if these meet our criteria above. Please help!
