Los Angeles, Aug 18 (IANS) Nicholas Brendon, who is best known for his role as Xander Harris in the hit 1990s drama 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer', was rushed to hospital after suffering a 'cardiac incident'.

Brandon was rushed to A&E for treatment after suffering a cardiac incident, his sister revealed on social media, reports mirror.co.uk.

The actor, who appeared in all but one of the 145 episodes of 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer', was admitted to the emergency following a health scare two weeks ago.

Brendon' sister took over his social media accounts to let the actor's fans know what had happened to the star as she shared a number of concerning images of the 'Buffy' star lying in a hospital bed.

The Instagram account also posted a worrying image of Brendon being carried on a stretcher.

"Nicky sends his love and wanted me to apologise that he hasn't been going live as much lately and to give everyone an update," the actor's sister wrote to his Instagram fans.

"Nicky is doing fine now but he had to be rushed to emergency two weeks ago because of a cardiac incident (tachycardia/arrhythmia). Some of you might remember he had a similar incident after his second spinal surgery last year (for Cauda Equina). This time he is trying to get a little more rest and has been concentrating on medical appointments."

The rare stenosis causes the nerves in the lower back to become severely compressed, and causes numbness in the lower body.

Brendon rose to fame as Xander in 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' in 1997. He appeared on all but one of the episodes until 2003, and after that, he went on to appear in 'Criminal Minds' until 2007.

Since then, the actor has been working on his own films.
