Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was born on December 3, 1973, in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He is the son of Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan, Nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and grandson of singer Fateh Ali Khan. Fateh Ali was born in a traditional music loving family most of the male members are associated with music. Being inspired by the musician family member, he came to the music industry and leads the industry by his mind blowing voice. Rahat took a lesson on music from his uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.Rahat Fateh Ali Khan used to perform in a different program with his uncle and was associated with the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Qawwali group. In 1985, Rahat toured in the United Kingdom with his uncle and performed well in the solo song.
The singer made his playback debut with the Bollywood movie Paap' for the song Mann Ki Lagan' in 2003. With his uncle, Rahat worked for the American rock band, Pearl Jam. He was the judge for the music show Chhote Ustaad 2' alongside Sonu Nigam. The singer was invited as a first Pakistani singer to 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, to perform its concert.Rahat showed off magnificent singing performance in the song Zaroori Tha' that is a heart touching song. The song is so hit on Youtube and it conveys positive acclamation for the singer. Naina Re' is his another popular song which sang with Himesh and Shreya Ghoshal. Already the singer presented lots of popular single track including Noor e Khuda' and Dillagi'.
In the month of April in 2012, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan went on a tour in UK and he performed at the Manchester Arena as well as the Wembley Area, in front of a huge audience.He along with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Eddie Vector (belonging to the American rock band called Pearl Jam') contributed to the soundtrack of Dead Man Walking' a 1995 Hollywood flick directed by Tim Robbins. In the year 2002, he along with James Horner (an American composer) joined hands and worked together on the soundtrack of Shekhar Kapur's The Four Feathers'.
Later on he had also given his bit of contribution to various songs in various albums and movies such as: for "Maki Madni" for the album called Joyful Noise', and for the Mel Gibson directed Aplocalypto'.Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had also appeared on television as a judge along with Sonu Nigam, for the reality show Chhote Ustad 2'. In the year 2008 he had also judged the singing reality television show called Junoon- Kuchh Kar Dikhaane Ka', aired on NDTV Imagine.
