Historical Event on 5/20/1932

Bipinchandra Ramchandra Pal, powerful journalist and revolutionary freedom fighter, passed away. He was amongst the trio which was known as ""Lal - Bal - Pal"" during the freedom struggle. He started a newspaper called ""Swaraj"" for the Indians in England. He also edited several other newspapers like ""Tribune"", ""New India"", ""Vande Mataram"", ""Swaraj"", ""Hindu Review"", ""Democrat"", ""Independent Bengali"", etc.

He even declined to accept the ""Bharat Ratna"" award conferred on him.
5/7/1993Jankiraman panel's final report finds that an additional aggregate of Rs. 12,85,549 crore was transacted in banks without any documentation; it indicts 12 more banks for involving in the scam.
