Historical Event on 11/19/1838
Keshab Chandra Sen (1838-84), nationalist leader of Bengal, was born in Calcutta. He was one of the first Indians to sow the seeds of secularism in the country. He joined the Brahmo Samaj in 1857 but seperated from it in 1866 and founded Brahma Samaj of India, a radical offshoot of the Adi Brahmo Samaj.

12/4/1894	Swami Brahmanand was born at Hamirpur district in UP. He joined freedom movement and participated in Salt Satyagraha, Non Cooperation Movement and Quit India Movement. He also established Brahmanand Inter College (1938), Brahmanand Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya (1943) and Brahmanand Mahavidyalaya (1960).

5/27/1906	Gandhiji writes to his brother Lakshimidas, stating his disinterestedness in worldly possessions.
4/17/1917	V.Sp. Manickam, famous Hndi writer, was born at Melasivapuri (Pudukkottai).
7/25/2000	Two Indians Aruna Roy from Rajasthan and Jockin Arputham, founder of the Indian National Slum Dwellers' Association, chosen for the Ramon Magsaysay award for public service.
4/9/1984	Captain H.J. Singh of Indian Army crossed the Banihal Darsh with the help of Hand Glider and set a new record.
8/23/1986	B. G. Deshmukh was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary of India. He held this office till 27th March, 1989.
10/28/1996	Goa upset Karnataka to win their first Ranji Cricket Trophy game ever.
