11/1/1996	Three national parties (Indira Congress, Janata Party and Samata Party) to lose their recognition as national parties as they failed to get the minimum required support in the general election to the 11th Lok Sabha.
2/1/1942	17 Indian Division's were withdrawn over vast stretches and the British evacuation in Burma was the longest in British military history. The Division was to subsequently extract terrible retribution from the Japanese Army during World War II and to destabilise the Indian Economy with forged notes of 5, 10 and 100 Rupees.
9/5/1995	30 member Ladakh Autonomous Hill Council sworn-in that was conceded by the Government of India in 1993.
9/4/1665	Raja Jai Singh treaty of Purandar was signed between the Mughals and Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
