Gandhiji published ""The Green Pamphlet"" at Rajkot and then toured to Bombay, Madras, Poona and Calcutta educating Indians in regard to grievances of South African Indians.

3/1/1961The first AN-12B arrived in India. This was added in the force because of the increasing frequency of clashes with Chinese forces on the Sino-lndian Himalayan border and the need that these revealed for yet further increase in airlift capability, together with a requirement for medium helicopters suitable for high-altitude operation, orders were placed in the Soviet Union for eight Antonov An- 12B and 24IL-yushin 11- 14 transport aircraft plus 10 Mi-4 helicopters.

2/18/1899Jainarain Vyas, leader, freedom fighter and social reformer, was born at Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He played a leading role in creating united Rajasthan by integration of various states of Rajputana. He was the first Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 1951 to 1954.
5/30/1895Pandurang Sakharam Pisurlekar, great historian in Goa, was born.
12/16/1867Amy Carmichael, Scotch Irish missionary, was born. She went to India in 1895 under the Zenana Missionary Society, remaining there without furlough until her death 56 years later. An invalid during her last 20 years, she worked to rescue children from the Hindus.
