Stress free violence free community IS the order of the day now, then ever before!

Why? Because ..

According to a survey stress levels of Americans are falling but not for the young Millennial generation ages 18 - 33, predominantly todays college post graduate and graduate students.

The online Stress in America Survey, of 2,020 U.S. adults 18 and older, was, conducted in August 2012 by Harris Interactive for the American Psychological Association.

On a scale of 1-10, where 1 means "little or no stress" and 10 means "a great deal of stress,". The 2012 average stress level is 4.9.

For the Millennials its 5.4. furthermore, 39% say their stress has increased in the past year , 52% say stress has kept them awake at night in the past month, are more likely to be told by their healthcare provider that they have depression or an anxiety disorder,  according to an article by USA Today College.

Depression and anxiety disorder are two common signs of too much stress or having difficulty coping with it, according to an article by The Shorthorn. It also distinguishes two types of stresses, the  good and bad. Some stress is important and healthy for you because it challenges you to grow, develop and delve in deeper to discover one's God given abilities so you may perform in tests , athlete events or on stage and sometimes motivates students to study, and work harder. Whilst, on the other hand, bad stress comes from being  frustrated and inhibited causing hinderance in a persons ability to realize their potential.
Students tend to become stressed when they are having difficulties with large amounts of studying,  meeting classroom deadlines, poor diet, sleep deprivation, finding a job after graduation and worry of how they will pay off the student loans after graduation. All whilst not having the skills to manage their stress.

Furthermore, our current backdrop of recession, home foreclosures, dwindling retirement portfolios and frozen credit lines, worldwide economic collapse and debt, students and professors alike have fallen victims to heightened levels of stress anxiety and depression not forgetting the physical symptoms such as  headaches, backaches, increased blood pressure and ulcers.

Popular stress combating tools commonly available to us include from positive to negative are exercise, yoga, meditation, healthy diets, therapy, hobbies, prescription  medication, smoking, recreational drugs and alcohol.

Extended periods of stress in communities especially moderate to low income  communities in troubled economic times, has been known to escalate into emotional outbursts such as anger or physical violence, abuse and gun use. Remember Sandy Hook Elementary School, Connecticut , Dec 14th 2012, not too long ago?

Several such random incidents of violence across the globe, literally at end of last year alone, touched the hearts of millions as witnessed on social websites, internet and media. Would you say, living in our global village today, that random acts of kindness or violence, regardless of its magnitude anywhere effects each one of us across the world?

Now lets ask ourselves, given these compounding circumstances in our fast paced world, knowing deep in our hearts that we are connected,  how can we positively contribute and empower ourselves  and the community at large to become free of stress and violence?

Come and find out HOW!

The time is NOW.
